Jewelry Care Guide

Lucecle jewelry is made for everyday beauty, but it should be treated gently. Many of our pieces include natural stones, pearls, shells, resin, cords, plated finishes, gold-tone details, or handmade components. These materials can be affected by water, chemicals, friction, sweat, impact, and storage conditions.

A simple care rhythm makes the biggest difference: put jewelry on last, take it off first, wipe it after wearing, and store each piece separately in a dry place.

Daily Care

The four essential habits

01 Last On

Wear after getting ready

Apply perfume, lotion, sunscreen, makeup, skincare, and hair products before putting on jewelry. Let products dry first to reduce residue on stones and metal.

02 First Off

Remove before water

Take jewelry off before showering, swimming, hot springs, saunas, dishwashing, or long contact with water.

03 Soft Wipe

Clean after wearing

Gently wipe jewelry with a clean soft cloth after wear to remove moisture, sweat, dust, and skin oils before storing.

04 Store Apart

Separate each piece

Store pieces individually in a pouch, jewelry box, or divided tray to reduce scratches, tangles, rubbing, and oxidation.

What To Avoid

Keep jewelry away from water, chemicals, and rough wear

Avoid moisture

  • Swimming pools, ocean water, hot tubs, and hot springs
  • Showers, saunas, steam rooms, and long hand-washing
  • Heavy sweating, gym workouts, and contact sports
  • Storing jewelry before it is fully dry

Avoid chemicals and friction

  • Perfume, lotion, sunscreen, makeup, and hair spray
  • Alcohol, bleach, vinegar, household cleaners, and chlorine
  • Sleeping in jewelry or changing tight clothing with jewelry on
  • Pulling chains, bending rings, or letting pieces rub together

Cleaning

How to clean your jewelry at home

Situation Recommended care Avoid
After everyday wear Wipe gently with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Focus on clasps, the back of pendants, ring settings, beads, and areas that touch the skin. Do not scrub hard, especially on plated finishes, pearls, shells, resin, cords, or softer stones.
Light dust or buildup Use a very soft brush only when needed, and work gently around small crevices. If a barely damp cloth is used, dry the piece fully before storage. Do not soak jewelry unless the specific material clearly allows it. Avoid toothpaste, alcohol, bleach, vinegar, and abrasive cleaners.
Silver details S925 silver can naturally oxidize. Store it dry and use a silver polishing cloth only on the silver area when needed. Do not use silver polish on pearls, natural stones, resin, plated parts, cords, or colored handmade components.
Loose stone, bent setting, broken chain, or damaged cord Stop wearing the piece and contact us with clear photos. Continuing to wear it may make repair more difficult. Do not glue, pull, bend, or force the piece back into shape at home.

Storage

Store jewelry in a dry, organized place

Many scratches, knots, and finish changes happen while jewelry is not being worn. Good storage keeps each piece visible, protected, and ready to wear.

Best storage

  • A fabric-lined jewelry box
  • A soft pouch for each piece
  • A divided tray with small compartments
  • Necklaces stored separately or gently hung to avoid knots

Storage to avoid

  • Bathrooms or humid rooms
  • Direct sunlight for long periods
  • Radiators, heaters, humidifiers, or air-conditioning vents
  • Loose piles where stones, chains, and metal parts rub together

Material Notes

Care by material

Material Lucecle care note
Gold-tone or plated finishes Keep away from moisture, sweat, perfume, sunscreen, lotion, alcohol, and household cleaners. Plated color may naturally soften over time; gentle care helps slow visible wear.
S925 silver Silver may oxidize with humidity, air exposure, and skin chemistry. Wipe after wearing and store dry. Use a silver polishing cloth only on silver areas.
Natural stones, jade, agate, quartz, tiger eye Natural stones may vary in color, pattern, inclusions, and texture. Avoid drops, hard knocks, ultrasonic cleaners, harsh chemicals, and sudden heat changes.
Pearls and shells Organic materials are delicate. Avoid perfume, acid, alcohol, abrasive cloths, and hard rubbing. Store away from harder stones and metal edges.
Resin and wood Keep away from high heat, long direct sun exposure, alcohol, and soaking. Store cool and dry to help preserve color and surface finish.
Cords, threads, and braided details Avoid pulling, snagging, heavy sweat, long water exposure, and rough friction. Let cords dry fully before storage if they become damp.

When To Remove

Take your jewelry off before these moments

Everyday moments

  • Showering, swimming, hot springs, or sauna
  • Applying perfume, lotion, sunscreen, makeup, or hair products
  • Cleaning, gardening, washing dishes, or handling chemicals
  • Sleeping or changing tight clothing

High-risk movement

  • Gym workouts, contact sports, climbing, or lifting weights
  • Carrying heavy bags while wearing rings or bracelets
  • Pulling sweaters, scarves, or bags over delicate chains
  • Any activity where a chain, charm, prong, bead, or cord may snag

FAQ

Jewelry care questions

Can I shower with Lucecle jewelry?

We recommend removing it first. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and moisture can leave a film on stones and affect metal finishes, cords, pearls, shells, resin, and natural material details.

Can I swim with it?

No. Chlorine, salt water, sunscreen, sand, and sudden temperature changes are hard on jewelry. Rings can also become loose in cold water and slip off more easily.

Is tarnish or color change normal?

Yes. Metal finishes can change with time, humidity, skin chemistry, friction, and product exposure. Keeping jewelry dry, wiping it after wear, and storing it separately helps slow this process.

Why does my natural stone or pearl look different from the photo?

Natural stones, pearls, and shells can vary in tone, pattern, shape, inclusions, growth marks, and surface texture. These differences are part of their material character.

What should I do if a chain breaks or a stone feels loose?

Please stop wearing the piece and contact us with clear photos. Do not keep wearing it, pull it, bend it, or try to glue it at home.

Care is part of the ritual
